Summer Autumn Cooking Class Calendar
Welcome to Milly and Romeo’s Cooking School in Koonwarra. We want to share with you our sheer love and joy of cooking by inviting you to join one of our fun and dynamic cooking classes. Whether you are wanting to learn the forgotten art of jam making, be confident when left in charge of a saucepan, help your kids to learn the love of food or just give the most scrumptious present, Milly and Romeo’s Cooking School has a class for you! We also do private classes and run school group programs. Our classes are designed to make the most of organic, seasonal food from local farms using simple, effective techniques and recipes. Is your budding young Masterchef looking for something to do in the holidays? Today is all about baking!! So we are whipping up a storm!! Chocolate cake, biscuits, some seasonal savoury muffins & a yummy slice

Friday 19th January 10am -12.30pm
Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner are all covered here!! We are making real pancakes and it is blueberry season too – so we will be throwing in some blueberries for extra yum!! It is also zucchini season – so let’s make a zucchini slice great lunchtime idea and can go into lunchboxes! Dinner is covered by showing our little masterchefs how to roast a chicken and we will make our own coleslaw and mayonnaise to go with that!! What a class !!

Jam & Chutney Class
Saturday 10th February 10am – 2.30pm
This class is perfect timing because summer is here and we have lots of lovely fruits in season. This is a partial hands- on class where we will prepare some fruits for jams & chutney– get the pots all going, take you through bottling them and storing. This class does include a light lunch – not to be missed and you will be making your own preserves right throughout summer and autumn. Then get to enjoy them all year round.

Meeniyan Garlic Festival
Saturday 17th February 9am – 4pm
This event is now in it’s second year and Milly & Romeo’s have been invited to run the cooking demonstration stage – how very exciting!! Why not make a day of it and come and join us after 2pm for high tea – amazing value at $30 per person. Bookings essential ph 56642211.

Vegetarian Cooking class
Saturday 24th February 10am -2.30pm
There are so many amazing fruits and vegetables at this time of the year and in this demonstration style class you will get to see how you can make the most of what is available right now and to also be thinking about the cooler months to come. Be amazed at the things we do!!
Basic Bread Cooking Class
Saturday 10th March 10am – 3pm
In this very popular hands on class, we will be exploring sourdough bread and making our own (as well as going home with a starter) we then will make some basic loaves and look at derivatives of this as well as making some real crumpets! Of course with Easter so close, we will also be making Hot Cross Buns, so you never have to buy them again!! This is a great class if you are new to bread making or would like a few more ideas now you are baking basic breads.

Saturday 24th March 10am – 3pm
Would you like to know more about technique’s & tips for perfect baking every time? This class will cover a wide range of beautiful traditional recipes, such as scones, biscuits, pastry (we will make the most delicious pear and almond tart!) a great chocolate cake for any occasion and a classic quiche to add our savoury element! Maria will share with you her knowledge, so you can have beautiful results when you bake at home.
